It became time to get out of town. With posession of Paola's Volvo, masquerading as Californians on a roadtrip in the Great NorthEast, I threw some triple-A batteries into the spycam and headed into the woods they call The Barren Pines, (or the Pine Barrens?), of NJ, for some camping...

Problems resolved, we wave good bye to the repairmen and their Grande Frappucino Latte drinking Police friend, get back on the road
when... The Rain Begins:
This is what we saw! when Rob and I ran into
Red and
Mike last night; all 4 of us standing there on the corner, voyers on the set [film, commercial or commercial film?] that is our neighborhood these days. Watching the facades of buildings go from normal, real, familiar, to fake, flat, set-like. Like an enlarged miniature. The deletion of street lights. The flooding of fake movie lights, flattening everthing out. Making daylight of nightime. You know how movies look like movies sometimes... It was like that.
Today, I'm hot. And oustide there's a baby crying.
And a cat meowwwwling
They're in a battle for dominance with loudness, or they're communicating. Or marking territory, audibly, like the Indri Lemurs in Eastern Madagascar:
WAAHHHHHH. MEOOOOWR. WAAAAAAAH. MEOAAAARRRR... etc. And so it goes.
And.... the icecream truck came by and played THE ENTERTAINER. Mainly the first verse. Over and over.
