That was fun.
We stood up and talked and showed our sites and photos pertaining to photo-blogging tonight at the Apple store. It was an event even more fun than I had anticipated. There was a large crowd. Thanks to jake, rion and jen for organizing and promoting. Nothing like seeing your photo on Gothamist to make you realize how bad you need a haircut. + my presentation of photography is posted right here.
I didn't talk much about my site. I instead showed photos, but in retrospect if i were to talk about my site more i could mention it's about (correction) 5 years old. It's first encarnation involved linking to small digital movies and vga spycam photos. Dated, chronological posts with words ('blogging') began in november 2000. Sometimes I will post photos here to accompany some words but lately most of my photos go on my fotolog. This weblog's archives can be found below, and or here.
Many have posted on the event:

Zach's long poodle life ended yesterday... You were a goodie, Z. We know you're doing laps for treats in the doggie-afterlife.

DAILY CANDY (thx for the link jkh)
Jake has posted pictures from the jen bekman gallery opening last night. it was fun. it was so very very nice to see so many familiar faces and i didn't really get to gush over meeting a webhero jason kottke finally for the first time at last, not nearly enough. (Unrelatedly, Jake, I say it's a manatee.)

I am afraid I can't make it but there's a thing at ICP Friday February 13 where Jason Fulford (et al) and artists of his publishing company J and L books will be signing books at ICP. including Mike Slack whose book OK OK OK i got for my birthday and loved.
The highlight lastnight was seeing Red's head:

...we had to touch it.

MUSIC TO BUY EVEN IF YOU'RE IN FRANCE AND IT COSTS A LOT MORE BECAUSE IT'S AN IMPORT
+ The Band of Blacky Ranchette' newest: STILL LOOKIN' GOOD TO ME {if you like anything or everything by Howe Gelb...} with contributions by Neko Case et more. It will give you a good fix of all that you like about Howe and Giant Sand, and Neko, and including some Chan Marshall plus a scrappy song by that guy from that one band where the lead singer always sits down and wears a baseball cap and is funny: Lambchop.
Sxx and I just now talking about these bands have realized we oppositely-pronounce every one of them:
Do you say ' Chan' or ' Shawn'?
'How' or 'Howie'?
'Neeko' or 'Necco'?

We've been doing some rehearsing. One time, we used 'Mikes'. Once a lit candle was used as a slide on a guitar. Graham says he'll be sporting a zoot suit. There will be a sound check, I'm told. Tuppy the Band is playing tonight at Galapagos, after or during or in musical tribute or post-accompaniment or maybe more like melodic contribution to AV CLUB: Comedy with Pictures. Who will be there to guest-accompany them on banjo? I will. I will.
+ Galapagos; Williamsburg, Bklyn, Monday October 20; 8pm; $7
