Lots of people are saying "What'd you do in Pittsburgh?". Well, there is a
James Turrell Exhibit at
The Mattress factory, up through April 2003. It's worth the trip to lie for 10 minutes in the
gas works. ALSO, I forgot to mention thanks to
Juli who provided good Pittsburgh scoop.
Also we ate dinner at a restaurant called Café du Jour, in Southside (i think) found thanks to the nice gal we met at the Salvation Army, where we bought mauve down coat circa 1984 for $7. We walked all over the
Southside. We loved the
Northside architecture and hills and yards. We drove all through the
West End and imagined moving into a few city blocks there with 50 friends or so. We almost got a flat tire in the hills above there. We tried so hard to eat at that dining car restaurant (Laverne's?) which wasn't ever open. We want it to be open always. We went into Hooters to go pee. We stayed at posh hotel for good rates, on a River. We drove over bridges and bridges and bridges. We bought James Brown and Pixies cds. We went up a mountain on a tram.
...Oh, the difficulties of the Autumn heat wave.
