there was thriftstore shopping and 6 pairs of boots for $25 and highschool reuinions in bars resembling airport lounges and babies dancing to banjo music and poodles running free in the snow and a frozen creek and loads of christmas eve snowfall and filet mignon and free range happy turkey and salmon and little lemon peels in our cups of coffee and 2 mile walks past the red barn and jokes, oh there were jokes told, and emails shared from southeast asia sent by loved-ones not present but missed and cats snuggled by fireplace without fire but warm anyway, and shoveling, and running in ditches and beernuts and Kickapoo tshirts, and friends' landlords met and fresh tuna seared and ponds frozen- and walked-on and then veuve cliquot toasts and tacos that were good and lots of standing and some kissing, and sleeping that was fine and movies that were long, very very long, and brunch and bloody marys and another long movie and discussions of laughter being out-loud enough as well as photos taken....

The novel Everything Is Illuminated is incredibly beautifully amazingly horribly saddeningly exhileratingly heartbreakingly geniously originally unnervingly upliftingly depressingly necessarily luminescently efflorescently addictinlgy hilariously teadropingly essentially unbelievably truthfully honestly fictionally magically realistically worth reading.
This is sad for music: Stereolab band member dies...
As if we didn't have enough to worry about in government: this is sufficently scary(not scarry).

Is there anything Lenny Lopate doesn't know?
Mariachi bands are hotter than all of us, and last night at Joe's we stole the show. Well okay we didn't. But Ruben did. We stole back into the venue after the first gig, so as to soak up the 2nd show, with Calexico y Luna de Luz, Los Mariachis from Tuscson.
